Broumov Monastery is located in a picturesque landscape full of sandstone rocks, about 20 km from Adršpach and Teplice nad Metují, therefore we recommend to combine the monastery tour with a trip to the rock towns and other beauties of Broumov region.
If you plan to go to Broumov for a day trip, you can get here by train, bus or by car.
The train station is located close to the centre of the town, near the main bus station. From the station you can reach the main road leading to the centre, then turn to the right up the hill and across the square to the upper right corner, where you find a street that takes you directly to the monastery. The train arrives to Broumov every hour during a day. We recommend to catch the express train going from Prague via Poděbrady, Nymburk and Hradec Králové with a transfer in Starkoč.
There are three bus stops in Broumov: Městský úřad, Hotel Veba and the main bus station (Autobusové nádraží), that is close to the train station. During the day several tens of buses arrive and depart from Broumov, usually head to Náchod and Hradec Králové, but direct lines to Prague can be found as well.
From Prague: if you depart for Broumov from Prague, take the highway D11 towards Hradec Králové, then continue on the road E67 that leads to Náchod and from there continue on the local road 303 to Broumov.
From Brno: if you come from the area of Brno, take the road E461 leading to Svitavy then follow the road E442, which takes you to Hradec Králové, and then continue as in the previous variant.
From Hradec Králové: take the speed road E67 through Jaroměř to Náchod and from there continue on the local road 303 to Broumov.
The nearest parking lot for personal cars is located on the left side of the main road leading to the square and by the monastery garden. It is a public parking lot free of charge. You can also park your car in the square (parking fee) or in front of the supermarkets Lidl and Penny Market (free of charge).
