Map
The Benedictine monastery in Broumov belongs to the national cultural heritage of the Czech Republic. The abbey is an impressive complex, the result of baroque reconstructions, designed by an architect K. I. Dientzenofer (1726 – 48). The monastery with the Church of st. Adalbert is located in the north-eastern part of the town, at the top of a rock promontory. The main building of the monastery is followed by the former monastic grammar school (from 1711) with adjacent buildings on the north side of the bridge (1705) leading to the monastery garden over the former moat.
